Associate Dean Strategic Workforce Planning & Development, Northumbria University
Pam’s professional background is in physiotherapy. She has 20 years’ experience of working in the Higher Education health sector, with an active research profile focusing on the rehabilitation of older people. Professor Pam Dawson has produced publications mostly on falls and falls prevention. Working in a multidisciplinary way, with occupational therapists, medics and nurses; increasingly work has placed the service user at the heart of a research partnership to improve interventions and healthcare.
Within the faculty, Pam has been developing her understanding of existing research and its many strengths, and assessing how the faculty can move forward, developing productive partnerships with external agencies to attract more project funding and PhD students. Research feeds into the whole student experience and should be evident in teaching and learning.
